The WA Joint Steering Committee (the Committee) is jointly chaired by the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Other members include senior officials from the Disability Services Commission, the Mental Health Commission, the Department of Social Services, the National Disability Insurance Agency and community representatives.
The purpose of the Committee is to oversee the progress and evaluation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) trials in Western Australia: the State WA NDIS in the Lower South West (from 1 July 2014), Cockburn and Kwinana (from 1 July 2015) and Armadale, Murray and Serpentine-Jarrahdale areas (from 1 October 2016).
The National Disability Insurance Agency in the Perth Hills (from 1 July 2014) and Bayswater, Bassendean, York, Chittering, Northam and Toodyay areas (from 1 January 2017)
The Committee meets quarterly and reports to the Western Australian Minister for Disability Services and the Commonwealth Minister for Social Services. Each quarter the Committee produces a Quarterly Statement that reports on progress and issues across each of the trial sites. These Quarterly Statements are listed below.
