Workshops on accessibility in popular demand

Following the launch of the Centre for Accessibility initiative, Minister for Disability Stephen Dawson shared his thoughts on digital access and the importance of celebrating an inclusive world. For more information, view the video here.

The Centre for Accessibility is an Information, Linkages and Capacity Building-funded initiative, created in partnership with DADAA, Media On Mars and Dr Scott Hollier.

After the launch, DADAA offered disability sector organisations free half-day workshops on incorporating digital access into their work practices. The workshop topics included:

  • how people with disability engage with content
  • role-based approaches to implementing accessibility and tips for producing accessible content.

The workshops, held in Geraldton, Fremantle and Busselton were applicable to organisations that include digital content in their work. Each session was fully booked, and such was the demand in Fremantle that a second workshop was held.
