As part of the ILC initiative, Western Australia’s individualised Services (WAiS) is providing information to the community.
The feedback after two information sessions in Mandurah was encouraging.
More than 40 people attended the first session, titled “Getting ready for NDIS in WA – Preparing to Plan.”
Afterwards, everyone who attended indicated that their understanding of the NDIS planning process was much clearer.
They made the following comments:
- “Planning is critical, it’s not about the money. It’s all about a good life and planning is a critical part of this.”
- “I have greater understanding of the process and how to plan for my family.”
- “Beautifully presented and non-threatening when people questioned the process.”
The second session was called “Getting ready for NDIS in WA – Understanding Self-Management.”
Afterwards, all 30 people who attended reported an increased understanding and confidence to self-manage funding.
One commented: “Well presented. Very informative, knowledge gained from a well-presented presentation.”
WAiS continues to provide information via their information line and individual meetings.
