An independent evaluation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) trials in Western Australia is being undertaken by Stantons International.

A separate comparative assessment of the trial will also be conducted by the WA NDIS Scheme Actuary and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Scheme Actuary.

These evaluations are overseen by the WA Joint Steering Committee, consisting of people with disability, senior Commonwealth and State government officers, the Disability Services Commission, the National Disability Insurance Agency, the WA Mental Health Commission and other disability sector stakeholders.

In addition to the formal independent evaluation, the trials are also being monitored at a local level through things like consumer feedback received through independent consumer satisfaction surveys, independently facilitated forums and the establishment of a range of governance and advisory groups.

This feedback has been invaluable in ensuring the WA NDIS model is responsive and supporting people on the ground to achieve good outcomes.
