Evaluation

An independent evaluation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) trials in Western Australia was undertaken by Stantons International. This report has now been released by the WA Minister for Disability Services and is available in full in the related documents section at the bottom of this page.

A separate comparative assessment of the trial was also conducted by the WA NDIS Scheme Actuary and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Scheme Actuary.

These evaluations were overseen by the WA Joint Steering Committee, consisting of people with disability, senior Commonwealth and State government officers, the Disability Services Commission, the National Disability Insurance Agency, the WA Mental Health Commission and other disability sector stakeholders.

In addition to the formal independent evaluation, the trials have also been monitored at a local level through things like consumer feedback received through independent consumer satisfaction surveys, independently facilitated forums and the establishment of a range of governance and advisory groups.

This feedback has been invaluable in ensuring the WA NDIS model is responsive and supporting people on the ground to achieve good outcomes.
