Accessible facilities key at Scarborough beachfront project
Accessibility has been a key priority in the development of the Scarborough beachfront project, which is to begin in coming weeks.
The project will include a new surf club facility, improved promenades and beach access, and a children's playground, skate park and other recreation facilities around the new Sunset Hill.
Disability Services Minister Donna Faragher said that a number of accessible elements would be incorporated into the playground and Scarborough would be joining the expanding Changing Places network, providing more opportunities for people with disability to visit and enjoy the beach.
Ms Faragher and Deputy Premier Liza Harvey announced this week that civil works company Georgiou Group would be the head contractor for the project.
