Public authorities are required to report on their progress in implementing their Disability Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIPs) by Monday, 2 July 2018. The reporting requirements are similar to 2016-2017. Public authorities are able to lodge their reports online.
Officers listed as DAIP contacts with the Access and Inclusion team will receive their invitation to the online reporting system by email. If you have not received an invitation by Friday, 6 April 2018 please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The system is easy to use. A detailed guide is available.
Public authorities are encouraged to include photographs of DAIP activities. A permission form to ensure people have agreed to their picture being used is available.
The Minister for Disability Services uses the information provided to develop a report that showcases the work being done by public authorities across Western Australia, highlighting examples of best practice and demonstrating the value of DAIPs. The report is tabled in Parliament and will be made available by Communities. Copies of recent reports are available. Your contribution to the process is appreciated.
Under the Disability Services Act 1993, public authorities must include a report about DAIP implementation in their annual report each year.
To develop their reports, public authorities may need to develop a process to track the activities of their agents and contractors. A DAIP Contractor Reporting Template is available for use or adaptation as needed.
Disability sector organisations that provide services on behalf of Communities, should follow the Reporting requirements instructions.
