Working in the disability field brings rewards to everyone – the workers, people with disability, and society as a whole, as we strive towards creating welcoming communities which facilitate citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone. There are few fields that can deliver as much job satisfaction as disability services.
Working at the Commission
The Disability Services Commission provides statewide services to people with disability within Western Australia. We offer a variety of employment, training and career opportunities across a number of programs and in a range of settings.
The Commission is a registered training organisation. People working in direct care positions in accommodation services can gain on-the-job, nationally recognised qualifications Certificate III and Certificate IV in Disability.
In addition to direct care work, the Commission is a large public sector organisation providing job opportunities for a range of professions including occupational therapy, clinical psychology, speech pathology, social work, accounting, information technology, human resource management, project management and research.
