International Day of People with Disability

The Department of Communities is offering seed grants to support organisations and groups to hold inclusive community events or activities on or around the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) on 3 December 2019. IDPwD is a United Nations sanctioned day that is celebrated internationally.

Events and activities should celebrate people with disability and raise awareness of the importance of welcoming, accessible and inclusive communities.

Grant amount

Funding of up to $1000 (excl GST) is available for organisations to deliver a range of community events or activities, including: disability festivals, sporting events, disability forums, workshops, seminars, award ceremonies; and art, music, dance and other cultural events.

Key dates

Applications open: Friday, 4 October 2019
Applications close: 5.00pm Friday 1 November 2019
Notification of result: By Friday, 8 November 2019
